Gameplay Basics: Getting Started

Character Creation:
Your journey begins with the creation of your character. Upon selecting your server, the game guides you through the character creation screen. Here, personalization is key as you choose your character’s gender and fine-tune their appearance with options for facial features, hairstyle, and hair color.

Furthermore, you get to select one of the eight available character classes, each defining unique abilities and playstyles. This step allows you to craft a distinct and personalized hero, ready to explore the vast world of CABAL: Return of Action.

Classes:
With eight different classes, each boasting distinct abilities and combat styles, CABAL: Return of Action caters to diverse player preferences. From the strength-focused Warriors to the magical prowess of Wizards, and the agile Bladers with dual blades to the devastating force of Gladiators, the options are vast.

Force Bladers, blending swords and magic with teleportation, Force Shielders utilizing sword and shield for versatile attack and defense, Force Archers excelling in long-range attacks with bows and magic, and Force Gunners showcasing expert marksmanship with guns. Every class offers unique skills, ensuring a visually stunning and engaging gameplay experience.

Attributes and Stats:
As your character progresses through quests and battles, experience points (EXP) accumulate, leading to character level-ups. With each level-up, you gain five attribute points to distribute among three primary attributes:

Strength (STR): Increases health and damage, reducing incoming damage. Ideal for close combat and ranged fighters.
Dexterity (DEX): Enhances accuracy and defense, making you harder to hit and more resistant to crowd-control effects. Perfect for agile and precise attackers.
Intelligence (INT): Boosts magical damage and resistance, critical hit resistance, and the ability to withstand enemy effects. Essential for spellcasters.

Strategically allocating these points tailors your character’s strengths to your preferred playstyle.

Skills and Combos:
Survival in Nevareth demands mastery of spells and abilities. Each class can learn unique abilities, displayed on the hot bar at the screen’s bottom. Combos, triggered by tapping the screen at precise moments, amplify damage. The combo system, while demanding attention, provides an avenue for players to maximize their abilities with accurate and consecutive taps.

Path of Exile: How to Win the Trial of the Ancestors Tournament

Path of Exile: How to Win the Trial of the Ancestors Tournament

The Trial of the Ancestors is a new endgame mechanic in Path of Exile that allows players to compete in a tournament against other players or AI opponents. The tournament is a unique blend of auto battler and ARPG elements, and it can be a lot of fun to master.

In this article, we will go over some tips on how to win the Trial of the Ancestors tournament.

Choosing Your Opponent

When you start a new tournament, you will be given a choice of three opponents to face. Each opponent has different strengths and weaknesses, so it is important to choose the one that you think you can beat.

For example, if you are playing a build that is focused on dealing damage to single targets, you might want to avoid opponents who have a lot of tanky units. On the other hand, if you have a build that is focused on dealing damage to multiple targets, you might want to avoid opponents who have a lot of squishy units.

Placing Your Units

Once you have chosen your opponent, you will need to place your units on the battlefield. There are four different roles that your units can perform: attackers, defenders, escorts, and flankers.

Attackers are your primary damage dealers. They should be placed on the front line so that they can start attacking the enemy units as soon as possible.

Defenders are your tanks. They should be placed on the front line to absorb damage and protect your attackers.

Escorts follow you around the battlefield and provide support to your other units. They can be used to heal, buff, or debuff your units, or to stun or disable the enemy units.

Flankers are your assassins. They should be placed in the back line so that they can attack the enemy units from behind.

When placing your units, it is important to consider their strengths and weaknesses. For example, if you have a unit that is weak to physical damage, you should not place it in the front line. Instead, you should place it behind your defenders.

Using Your Field Item

Each field item has a unique effect that can be used to help you win the battle. For example, some field items can deal damage to enemy units, while others can buff your own units.

It is important to use your field item wisely. For example, if you are facing an opponent who has a lot of tanky units, you might want to use a field item that can deal damage to multiple targets. On the other hand, if you are facing an opponent who has a lot of squishy units, you might want to use a field item that can buff your own units.

Playing Your Role

In addition to placing your units and using your field item, you can also play an active role in the battle. You can do this by moving around the battlefield and attacking the enemy units.

It is important to be careful when playing your role. You do not want to get too close to the enemy units, or they will kill you. However, you also do not want to stay too far away, or your units will not be able to attack the enemy units.

Tips for Winning

Here are some additional tips for winning the Trial of the Ancestors tournament:

Upgrade your units. As you progress through the tournament, you will earn points that you can use to upgrade your units. Upgrading your units will make them stronger and more durable.
Use your field POE currency and item wisely. As mentioned above, each field item has a unique effect that can be used to help you win the battle. Use your field item wisely to give yourself an advantage over your opponent.
Play your role. Do not just stand around and watch your units fight. Move around the battlefield and attack the enemy units to help your team win.
Be aware of the enemy champion. The enemy champion is a powerful unit that can easily kill your units. Be aware of where the enemy champion is and avoid getting too close to it.

Conclusion

The Trial of the Ancestors tournament is a challenging but rewarding endgame mechanic in Path of Exile. By following the tips above, you can increase your chances of winning the tournament and earning valuable rewards.

New World: Aggro Issues

New World: Aggro Issues

I’ve noticed something odd lately – it seems like there might be a problem with aggro in the game. I hadn’t been tanking for a while, as I’d been playing as a mage, but I decided to give it a shot and try the Depths Mutations for the artifact neck.

To my surprise, I found that multiple times, my taunts just didn’t seem to work. I could use up to 3-4 taunts, and they would simply be ignored. Sometimes, even when enemies were right on top of me, they wouldn’t show the taunt icon. It was really strange. Even when the taunt did seem to work correctly, it was often ignored by the enemies. This was incredibly unusual, and I’d never seen anything like it before.

I’ve been using various aggro-generating perks and focusing mostly on attacking, unless my health drops significantly, in which case I’ll block as needed. However, it doesn’t seem to make a difference – aggro appears to be acting strangely. I even noticed this when I was playing as a mage, trying to farm Void Plate, where a flail tank used one of their taunts, and for some reason, even though I hadn’t taken any actions yet, it seemed to be redirecting aggro to me.

Have any of you encountered this issue? Do you think there might be some underlying bugs affecting aggro in the game?

In short, here’s how aggro works: Monsters typically attack the first target they get hit by or, in the case of tanks, the one they taunt. Healers can provoke aggro as they heal. However, the taunt effect works after the monster’s current animation or attack. So, even if a tank taunts, monsters might hit a healer once before changing targets. This can be counteracted with hard crowd control, which resets the monster’s current animation. Some DPS players might not be aware of this and get surprised when they gain aggro, even if the taunt was used after their initial attacks.

To address this, tanks should use their taunts before their teammates take any action, whether it’s healing, dealing damage, or applying crowd control. In boss fights, gaining and maintaining full aggro can be tricky because bosses have their own skills and fixed target rotations. Even if a boss is taunted, it may still turn around and target DPS players or use ranged attacks from time to time.
